Major Activities – Second Term

If there is anything at all to write home about G.H.S Buea, it is the fact that the school has always been finger pointed for its legendary hospitality, discipline and good results in official examinations.
The 2nd term in G.H.S Bokwaongo was characterized by a series of official visits and achievements. To begin, G.H.S Bokwaongo was the host of the 2009 edition of national bilingual day in the S.W Region. The occasion which was rich both in quality and quantity brought together top administrative officials in the region; the occasion equally brought to the limelight of publicity raw talents most especially in the domains of journalism and mass communication.
In the course of the term, G.H.S Bokwaongo was metamorphosed into a positive      political battle ground as a total of 90 candidates declared their candidatures of becoming baby administrators of the school. However, the journey of prefect ship was quite rough for many as a democratically organized election proved others more eligible. 31 out of the 90 vying for prefect ship were judged qualified with Meende Elinge as the Jesus.
G.H.S Bokwaongo within the term showed case proves of its dominance in social activities during the youth week occupying the 2nd spot in the singing and dancing competitions, clinched the 11th Feb cup after beating G.B.H.S Muea by 3 goals to 1. The school’s cricket team equally made us proud as they made the Molyko Grammar School a subject of inferiority complex after beating them at the finals of the regional Common Wealth Tournaments.
Perhaps the most outstanding of all was the choice of G.H.S Buea to play host to five day national workshop on Information and Communication Technology(I.C.T.). An occasion which was graced by the Secretary Of State for Secondary Education, Prof. Yvo Leke Tambo.
And last but not the least, Ex-students of the School in the course of the term converged on the school campus to pay homage to their Alma Mata. Activities which started on Monday culminated yesterday with the launching proper of B.E.S.A, the University of Buea chapter.
And that is how we saw G.H.S Buea within the term.
